My mom and I are heading to Ayacucho in three weeks! Now, I know that that's still a pretty long time, but I'm gonna go ahead and start this blog anyway because the preparation is important too, right?
I'm getting excited for a new adventure, seeing a new place and gaining a little perspective. Sometimes, life is very small. I'm a college student, taking four classes a semester, and those courses are everything. I eat, breathe, and sleep academics. Homework, tests, papers. With that and work, there just isn't room for much else. It's easy to forget that college isn't everything, that the world is a big place. So, I try to get out of the bubble every once in awhile and let the real world hit me in the face with a good dose of humility. It's healthy to see that my problems are pretty tiny and my blessings are fairly enormous. Then, I can get back to work on my life as a better, deeper, and more grateful person. That's what I'm looking for in Peru.
So, wish me luck on gaining some Peru perspective!
